WHAT PLAY ARE YOU JUST ACHING TO DO?
A Day In the Death of Joe Egg
YOU KEEP IN TOUCH WITH PAST CAST MEMBERS?
Sometimes, if they’re worth it
ON A SCALE OF 1-10, HOW IMPORTANT IS GETTING PAID?
8. I can take working for free with the right people and level of respect, but working for free with a-holes sucks.
SOMETHING EMBARRASSING OR UNEXPECTED THAT HAPPENED TO YOU WHILE ON-STAGE?
I was once on stage and a huge piece of the set fell down. It was exciting.
WHO IS THE MOST DIFFICULT PERSON (ON STAGE OR OFF) THAT YOU HAVE EVER WORKED WITH?

EVER WRITTEN A PLAY?
Yeah, I’ve tried

Yep, mostly to boss people around though.
WHAT WAS THE FIRST PLAY YOU EVER SAW, WHERE, AND AT WHAT AGE?
Does Sesame Street Live count? If not then I guess it would have to be Paddington.
WHAT PLAY HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOU?
Ave Q made me realize that theatre could be fun again.

The Cure

I don't care if Monday's blue
Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you
It's Friday, I'm in love
Monday you can fall apart
Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart
Oh, Thursday doesn't even start
It's Friday I'm in love
Saturday, wait
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday, never hesitate...
I don't care if Mondays black
Tuesday, Wednesday - heart attack
Thursday, never looking back
It's Friday, I'm in love
Monday, you can hold your head
Tuesday, Wednesday stay in bed
Or Thursday - watch the walls instead
It's Friday, I'm in love
Saturday, wait
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday, never hesitate...
Dressed up to the eyes
It's a wonderful surprise
To see your shoes and your spirits rise
Throwing out your frown
And just smiling at the sound
And as sleek as a shriek
Spinning round and round
Always take a big bite
It's such a gorgeous sight
To see you eat in the middle of the night
You can never get enough
Enough of this stuff
It's Friday, I'm in love
I don't care if Monday's blue
Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you
It's Friday, I'm in love
Monday you can fall apart
Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart
Thursday doesn't even start
It's Friday I'm in love

Algebra is going to kill me. I've decided it does me no good. I won't need algebra to be an artist or go backpacking across India. Good thing too, since I just got a D on the test. John wasn't in class. He probably would have blown the test too. He never shows up. I wish I could just not show up. I wish I was away.
I'll go away and find Dad. Wouldn't it be awesome if he were in Chicago. Chi-go. Congo. Or the Congo. Traveling through Africa. Up through Egypt and Israel. Just me and Dad. He wouldn't drink until her forgot my name and I'd be out of this crap town.
Saturday detention is in the Library. If I tell Mom I have detention maybe she'll be more interested in what I'm doing in school. Maybe if she has to drive me on Saturday morning, she won't drink so much Friday night.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
More free association and to be honest, I'm a little concerned where this journal ended up. Obviously Allison has problems, we all knew that from the beginning, but the more I delved, the more I began to see how important detention is for her. How it might be the last chance she has to make some sort of connection to anyone.

I hate the school bus. I swear it comes earlier and earlier every morning. I had to run to catch the damn thing this morning. But, as we learned yesterday, anything is better than trying to wake Mom up after a bender.
So John got busted for the false alarm yesterday. I heard him talking to Janie about Saturday detention. What would someone do all Saturday at school? Its got to be all the bad kids - so what happens? Drugs? Orgies? Zombie dance from Thriller? I wonder if Michael Jackson's hair will grow back.
OH GOD! I swear John Bender just looked at me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, being topical without being too topical. I took the chance for the next two days to relax my mind and try to do free writing and association. As we can see, free association of the 80s usually includes Michael Jackson.

I'm late. Stupid crap alarm clock. I had decided that today I was going to try and sneak around the back of the auditorium and see if I could see John and his friends again. But now I can't because of this stupid crap alarm clock. I guess I better go and try to wake Mom up.
By the time I got to school everyone was outside. I guess there was a fire or a bomb or something. Whatever. I slipped in with the rest of my English class.
No one noticed.
I didn't see John.
Oh, and the pep rally that was supposed to be today got moved to tomorrow. All those poor cheerleaders will just have to wear their stupid slutty skirts tomorrow too. SOB! SOB!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, I guess this is a continuity error, as Vernon says later the false alarm was on Friday in the script, but I thought I needed a little mid-week excitement. And obviously Allison has cheerleader issues.
